INTRODUCTION

Jazz Vocalist and Trumpeter,songwriter and producer. Idrees hails from a historic jazz family from Harlem, New York that began in the 1940’s - a family that claims three generations of professional musicians.

Father Al Barrymore played with Louis Armstrong, Dizzy Gillespie, The Ink Spots. Stepmom is jazz legend Dakota Staton (Aliyah Dawud), former Capital Records artist, having recorded with George Shearing and Sid Feller Orchestra among others.

In the six years performing Idrees has proven to be a top draw for jazz in all settings, attracting hundreds of fans in Beijing and Bangkok nightly for months on end. Increasingly he is being requested worldwide for one night performances such as the monthly "Harlem Nights" at Medinat Jumeirah's Jambase Club, T8 Restaurant, Shanghai, and The Walhaus Hotel, Sils Maria, St. Moritz. Idrees has performed before royalty in Thailand, The Prince of Bahrain, and dignitaries such as Presidents Bill Clinton. A perfect fit for grand openings, product launches, fashion shows, and other special events. If it's straight-ahead jazz or Blues you want, or jazzy Brazilian / Afro-Cuban music, Idrees will serve it up in just the right portion. For those with less traditional, more hip tastes, pairing Idrees with a DJ spinning House or other types of popular fare has proven to be popular as well.
